Featured Artist Andrew Dvoracek

Currently hanging in the shop are the wonderfully quirky fruit paintings of Andrew Dvoracek.

When it comes to creating, Andy strives to marry simple objects, ambiguous themes, intricate graphics, repeated images, and dramatic shadows. Toward this end, he tends to gravitate to acrylic paint, silk screening, and photo transferring. At the end of the day, his desire is to make something that is as fun and interesting for the viewer to look at as it was for him to create.

Featured artist Jeremy Okai Davis

Now hanging in the shop are the uplifting paintings of Jeremy Okai Davis.

Davis had a wonderful art opening with lots of his friends in attendance.  Davis’ art is a response to the things he see’s daily. Be it the saturation of advertisements and text or just the sometimes eccentric or mundane juxtaposition of people we see in our waking life. He likes to have fun with his art so never take too much of what you see seriously. Just enjoy it for what it is.

Along with hanging his art at seven virtues, Davis has set up a raffle for one of his paintings.  For $2, you get a chance at winning one of two paintings.  This seems to be an excellent way to generate some excitement for the paintings.

Featured Artist Alexandra Petersen

Currently hanging in the shop are the pen and ink images embedded with an encaustic medium created by Alexandra Petersen.
Mike+With+Sturgeon+(Medium)1

Petersen’s juxtaposition of thick, abstract encaustic with intimate penwork draws the viewer from across the room to examine her playful dreamscapes.  She examines themes of childhood, memory, and aloneness in a way that is poignant in both its vulnerability and its detachment.  Her characters are dwarfed within vast landscapes, which lends the viewer a feeling of distant intimacy.
