Need a unique gift idea for Christmas?  Seven virtues has a few ideas that could be the perfect fit.  New in the shop are the small bags of 4 coffee coins, each good for a 12oz drink, perfect for stocking stuffers.  Also new this season are the red travel mugs and the seven virtues greeting cards.

And of course we still have our extremely comfortable shirts available in a variety of sizes and colors for both male and female.

Currently hanging in the shop are the poetry and print work of Chris Ridenour.

Ridenour is a poet/printmaker whose recent body of work combines these two disparate passions.  Colorful linoleum cuts accompany his original poetry in a harmonious fashion that goes far beyond the realm of sheer illustration.  Ridenour pushes the boundaries of the linoleum to create prints that are akin to wood engravings or paintings.  His incorporation of subtle text with his graphic images creates work that is intriguing from both near and far.

Seven virtues recently added a couch and increased the amount of seating.  In doing so, we removed the children’s area.  We came to the conclusion after 2 years that we could no longer justify having an area dedicated to children.  Although we enjoy children and families and will always welcome them, we decided that the space would be more effective as a general seating area.

This Thursday October 15th, between 6pm-8pm, we will continue our monthly art openings with the black and white photographs of Katherine T. Jacobs.

Jacobs has created a series of black and white photographs of strangers throughout all fifty states.  Her goal is to compile these images into a book about America’s fascinating, beautiful and hospitable culture. These portraits capture moments throughout America during the troubling times of 2008 and 09, yet they also show the strength of these hard working citizens.

When it comes to creating, Andy strives to marry simple objects, ambiguous themes, intricate graphics, repeated images, and dramatic shadows. Toward this end, he tends to gravitate to acrylic paint, silk screening, and photo transferring. At the end of the day, his desire is to make something that is as fun and interesting for the viewer to look at as it was for him to create.

Seven virtues will be closing at 2pm on Monday October 26th for a staff training.  We are making some changes and improvements so thanks for your patience and understanding.

Seven virtues is always working to improve the quality of the customer experience.  As we learn more and more about coffee and espresso, we make changes in the shop.  As part of this effort to raise the bar, seven virtues will soon be making changes to the menu.  We will simplify the menu, adjust sizes, and make some adjustment to the prices.

In addition, seven virtues will soon start serving all 0ur brewed coffee using the French press method.  This will improve the taste of our coffee and will improve the customer experience.

On Thursday October 15th we will once again have our monthly art opening from 6pm-8pm.  This month we will feature the paintings of Andrew Dvoracek.

We are open on every holiday except for Christmas.  In general, for holidays we open at 7:30am and usually close around 2pm.  This changes though, depending on the holiday.

Along with the end of summer, we saw the end of our Summer Virtues Drinks.  We served our last milkshake in September and will now turn our attention to improving our core espresso drinks.  We have made some improvements with our espresso and will continue to work towards perfecting our milk based drinks.

Also, in the near future we will be making a switch to French press coffee and will be making some adjustments to our menu.  This is all in an effort to improve the customer experience at seven virtues.
